Liberals always thought that they believed in effective government for the better good of society. While Liberals never believed that government should intrude in one’s personal lives they were accused of this by fiat. Now that the Republicans are in complete power of all branches of the government” with the Right Wing holding considerable sway ” it seems that one’s liberties are in constant peril.
Over the last four years it is evident that the Republican Party is moving the country at a measured pace toward fascism.
- The Patriot Act is an abomination. Disregard all that is said about it by its supporters and simply read it. In it you will find the tools necessary to effect the genesis of fascism. It is a difficult document to read but additional comments with references to the document can be found here.
- The Omnibus Spending Bill that was to be passed the week of November 21st” 2004 had a hidden provision that allowed the two Republican chairmen of the appropriations committee or their agents to examine any American’s tax return.
It is essential that we all remain vigilant lest we fall into the slow methodical and near irreversible erosion of all our rights.
