Every time I pass the skateboard rink I am reminded that I am getting old. I wish I had the versatility and dexterity of the young people I see there. The main issue I think is the fear of falling and hurting myself. Interesting enough, with all the gear out there now, safety while a concern is mitigated by the share number of equipment out there that protect just about every part of the body.
The same fear previously from skiing, something I have wanted to do for years. Well it is time to pickup a skiing magazines, learn, and get over my fears. Of course I must decide if I really want to invest in a new hobby. After being a cyclist for over 15 years and spending several thousand dollars on that hobby, I must decide whether I really want to adopt another expensive hobby.
Well, I guess getting new skis and new ski boots would not really be as expensive of my carbon fiber bike which actually costs more than some motorcycles. I guess I will decide or better the economy will decide how intense I get with a new hobby. Time will tell but I think it will be TAHOE.
