The Dallas Morning News had a fantastic letter to the editor this morning from a lady named Catherine Portele. It was entitled, “Choose Texas Over Party.” http://letterstotheeditorblog.dallasnews.com/2014/02/choose-texas-over-party.html/.
Her article was about the current batch of Republican politicians running for office in Texas. Concerning them, she states:
“Would someone tell them they cannot impeach President Obama, but they could impact Texas infrastructure, education, voting rights and environmental safety? Enough of “talking points” about what they are against and insulting us with rants. What about what they are for that will make Texas a better state?”
I completely agree with Mrs. Portele. Every time I sign onto facebook, I see an ad from Dan Patrick, Barry Smitherman, Greg Abbott, John Cornyn or some other Texas Republican politician. These ads never talk about what they plan to do to make Texas a great state. These ads never talk about who they are, where they come from, or why they are deserving of my vote. Instead, these ads say things like “I sued Obama 7 times,” “dislike Obamacare? Click here,” or “Stand against Barack Obama and his allies.”
