Back in early September:
The Senate Republicans’ campaign arm isn’t planning to devote any more significant resources to shore up key candidates in the red states of Kansas, Kentucky and Georgia. Instead, the National Republican Senatorial Committee is looking at going on offense in other states as the battle for the Senate nears the homestretch.
Boy, those were the times, full of unbridled optimism. But then this happened a few days ago:
The NRSC has moved $1 million to South Dakota, plus another $1.45 million to Georgia.
Huh? Georgia? The polling showed Republican nominee David Perdue with a fairly significant lead of around 5 points, and Nunn was far from the 50 percent she’d need to hit to avoid a runoff. So why spend money there? Well, today we find out why:
National Democrats are reserving $1 million more for ads in Georgia, where they see the Senate race moving in their direction thanks to attacks against Republican David Perdue’s record of outsourcing […]
The most recent Democratic internal polls show Democrat Michelle Nunn, a former nonprofit executive, leading Perdue and close to 50 percent, the threshold she would need to reach to avoid a Jan. 6 runoff.
Before you think “it’s an internal,” remember that Republicans are rushing resources into the state after swearing they didn’t have to spend anything. They’re certainly running scared. And don’t forget, Democrats have registered at least 212,000 new voters in the state, not including another 40,000 registrations that have mysteriously disappeared thanks to the state’s Republican secretary of state. Democrats have been rocking the ground game—numbers that wouldn’t show up in most “likely voter” polls.
We don’t have any Georgia endorsements this cycle, so if you want to give to Nunn, you’ll have to go to her campaign site. But if you’re still looking for great Democrats to give to, as this election goes down to the wire, we’ve got a bunch of great candidates to choose from.

Georgia Republicans are being undone by their candidate, what with his undying lifelong love for shipping jobs overseas. First he was proud of his career choices, loving his job of destroying the American dream, then he tried to redefine the term outsourcing to mean buying a sandwich at a corner deli. Now? Democrats are pounding his words on the airwaves and the cavalry has to ride to his rescue, because voters apparently don’t like the asshole who ships their jobs to Asia.
