Was Scott’s fantrum a failed ploy?

The political world is all abuzz about  Skeletor’s Florida Governor Rick Scott’s  “fantrum” last night in the Florida governor’s debate. For those living under a rock, Scott initially refused to debate because his opponent former Governor Charlie Crist had below his podium a fan. After sensing the ridicule being heaped upon him, Scott relented and joined the debate. But the story was told. #Fangate was born.

The conventional story holds that Rick Scott was just being ridiculous and looked foolish for his tantrum. But I think that misses a big part of the story. I think Rick Scott had a ploy set up to try and embarrass Crist as a “rulebreaker” and a priss. Let me explain my theory (or you can listen to my explanation below the fold.
